Regulatory Compliance

NOREAS offers the full spectrum of special status species permitting, wetland/waters delineation/ permitting, and compensatory mitigation support services to ensure that our clients are able to comply with the California Coastal Act, Clean Water Act, California Fish and Game Codes, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, State and Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) specifications. We understand the regulatory framework our clients operate under and the complexity involved with addressing various local, state, and federal government agency requirements (e.g., US Army Corps of Engineers [USACE], Regional Water Quality Control Board [RWQCB], US. Navy, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service [USFWS], California Department of Fish and Wildlife [CDFW], etc.). NOREAS also appreciates that some clients are “hands on,” and at times prefer to speak with “one” voice – more specifically, the voice of a full time employee versus a paid consultant. Our approach and strategy toward agency coordination is flexible with regard to outreach, document transmittal, and direct coordination. We encourage regular communication with clients to ensure that we thoroughly understand their philosophy, and expectations before a project begins.

NOREAS associates have established and maintained successful, long-term working relationships with regulatory agencies, resource specialists, and colleagues. These personal relationships allow our staffs to negotiate regulatory permits and reporting requirements that are practical, economically feasible, and environmentally compliant. Our relationships with government and regulatory agency staff are unequaled. These personal relationships have led to expedited, and scaled down permit/mitigation requirements for a variety of projects.
